Summary/Abstract: The advancement of technology has and will certainly bring advantages to the world. The contemporary civilisation is moving towards that stage of humanity where almost everything can be solved by technology. According to the data analysed so far by specialists from all corners of the world, it can be seen that technology, along with the series of benefits it has brought to people, comes with a series of challenges. We could observe that out of the desire of individuals to be more and more interconnected and up to date with the news, they have allowed technology to penetrate to the most intimate details of their lives. The intimacy nation is on the verge of extinction, social media is imposing its own paradigm of thinking on the ones connected. As a result, cyberspace can alter fundamental notions for the individual, such as space and time, succeeding in creating a vicious circle of utility-commodification that consumes rather than builds the individual as a personality.
