Summary/Abstract: This study explores the relationship between film and literature. Starting from the issue of defining the poetic and the poetic film, the study analyzes the specifics of the national cinema from the Republic of Moldova. The author tries to define the Moldovan poetic film through the comparative analysis of the works of the most prominent historians, critics and researchers in the field of Moldovan fiction and non-fiction cinema – Ana Maria Plămădeală and Dumitru Olărescu. This comparative scientific analysis highlights the features of national cinema and identifies its main motives.
