Summary/Abstract: The article deals with one of the main problems of classical dance pedagogy – the positioning of the body and legs of students without secondary professional choreographic education, studying choreography at a higher educational institution to become choreographers by profession. The author provides data from literary sources, as well as observations accumulated on the basis of her own experience in teaching the basics of classical dance.
