COMBATING RISKS, HAZARDS, THREATS AND VULNERABILITIES TO UNION SOCIETAL SECURITY FROM RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN DIGITAL SPACE, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Summary/Abstract: Communications and information technology, including its aspects of artificial intelligence and virtual reality, have seen an unprecedented proliferation in recent decades. More and more processes across the economic and social spectrum are being influenced by such technologies, in ways that we can not even detect at first glance. The proliferation of IT&C technologies brings countless opportunities for economic growth, which is why the governments of the world and the European Union have encouraged and are encouraging this sector. However, such proliferation can also contribute to the emergence of risks, dangers, and threats to social security which, by their magnitude and depth, have the potential to affect the essential coordinates of the functioning of human societies. For example,for the first time in human history, the human labor force is in danger of being replaced by a multitude of fields of activity.
