On the Question of Ancient Greek Heritage in the History of World Linguistics

Summary/Abstract: The present study aims to briefly discuss the origins of linguistic ideas in ancient Rome and some of the most prominent connoisseurs of oratory art within the Roman Empire. As is well known; the cultural connection between Ancient Greece and Rome is very strong but this does not prevent the ancient Roman philosophers and grammarians from leaving a distinct trace with their works in the history of linguistics.
