Summary/Abstract: The text analyzes the capital collection “Folk Songs from Samokov and Samokov Region” 45 years after its compilation and publication by ethnomusicologist Elena Stoin and 85 years after the recording by her father Vasil Stoin. The song collection is a “snapshot” of the folk musical dialect of the region in the 1930s.
