Summary/Abstract: The impact of the world economic crisis on production and unemployment in the observed economies is still felt ten years after its ending. This is particularly noticeable in the sector of the automobile industry, as a part of manufacturing production. The potential loss from a permanent closing down of production capacities in this sector of the economy will exert long-term negative effects on the economic development of these countries. Spacial grouping of companies from this economic area into clusters represents a positive way for stimulation of their production. However, regarding the structural problems of the economy and increased competition from abroad, it is necessary to maintain the efficiency of production and to hold unemployment at appropriate levels in these clusters. In order to achieve this, economic policy measures should aim to increase the mutual cooperation of the clusters from different states.
