The role of the European Union in achieving and maintaining societal security

Summary/Abstract: The complexity and unpredictability of threats in the European Union have led to the need for the active involvement of the European institutions and the Member States in maintaining societal security, especially given that the current global context requires priority to focus on preventive behavior. The aim of scientific research is to present the importance of maintaining security in general, but also of societal security in particular in the European Union, the article presenting issues related to social security in the European Union based mainly on close cooperation with EU Member States to combat threats.
