Summary/Abstract: The article is based on the analysis of twenty-five qualitative interviews (IDI) with women supporting the civil protest against the ruling of the Constitutional Tribunal from October 22, 2020, prohibiting abortion due to embryo-pathological premise. It addresses the emotional dynamics experienced individually and within a community of rebellion at various stages of its duration and disintegration. The authors analyzed the context of emotions and demonstrated how the loss of ontological safety resulting from the ruling led to the respondents’ anxiety and grief that transformed into anger. The latter mobilized women to participate in the protest. The article describes how the energy of demonstrations diminished, leading to disappointment when the goal of the protests was not achieved. The authors indicate that despite the resentment, women were not “trapped” in difficult emotions during the demonstrations and afterward, and they developed the strategies aimed to restore emotional stability and build a sense of freedom despite systemic constraints.
