Summary/Abstract: The Polish Women’s League, a women’s organisation accepted by the communist authorities, tried to strengthen its influence, especially among working women. Its other priority was popularising the Household Committee activities, which organised vocational education and promoted household economics. Unfortunately, it was declining in the late 1980s because of decreasing number of female members and its waning position as the official representation of Polish women.
