Summary/Abstract: In the early afternoon of 18th June 2011, during a period of social turmoil in Greece due to the developing economic crisis, the French troupe of the Théâtre du Soleil participated in the social movement of Greek Indignants or (Occupy) the Squares with a performance in Syntagma Square. For several weeks a great number of Greeks protested there against austerity measures and social injustice. In the performance, the protagonist was a giant feminine puppet representing Justice. This paper focuses on the abundance and strength of emotions both of the foreign actors аnd of the Greek “audience” which connected them in a performative expression of protest and resistance (performative resistance).
