Summary/Abstract: This article is aimed to analyse the most prominent and essential political, economic and security trends of the last 20 years in this region, as well as to forecast further developments based on election promises of the President-elect of the United States of America, the key country in the region. Attention is also paid to the possible influence North American regional trends might have on world politics, economics and security in the next several years.
