Summary/Abstract: The 2020 NEPSIS Congress of the Romanian Orthodox Metropolis of Western and Southern Europe brought together young participants from five European states. For its 11th edition, held between 25-27 September in parish „The Holy Great Martyr George” in Bern, the event’s title was „The Christian in the City”. With the blessing of Metropolitan Iosif, the congress was attended by His Grace Atanasie of Bogdania, Vicar Bishop of the Romanian Orthodox Diocese of Italy, who was the only hierarch physically present. The other hierarchs of the Metropolis of Western and Southern Europe participated through online platforms facilitating communication. The event opened with a Te Deum officiated by His Eminence Atanasie of Bogdania, followed by the blessing address from Metropolitan Iosif, who stated: „We are called to transfigure the world spiritually, this is the role of the Christian in society”. Then two conferences and several workshops were held online, and the congress ended with the celebration of the Holy Liturghy by Vicar Bishop Atanasie of Bogdania. In his address, the hierarch exhorted the young to become „true Christians in this troubled society of today’s world, like the Apostles whom the Lord turned into fishers of men and who preached the Gospel to the whole world”.
