Summary/Abstract: On September 30, 2020, hierarchs of our Church, clergy and faithful took part in the celebration at the Patriarchal Cathedral, of the 13th anniversary of His Beatitude Daniel’s enthronement as Patriarch of Romania. The anniversary was marked by the Holy Liturgy and a Te Deum service, officiated in the Patriarchal Cathedral by His Grace Visarion, Bishop of Tulcea. The achievements of the Church under the shepherding of Patriarch Daniel and their social impact were addressed, on behalf of the members of the Holy Synod, by Bishop Visarion of Tulcea. „It has been 13 years of spiritual joys, of achievements as well as hardships, years during which the life of our ancestral Church has completely changed for the better. 13 years have passed like 13 days, because they were filled with work, devotion and commitment to the welfare of our Holy Church and the Romanian Orthodox people”. On the 13th anniversary of his enthronement, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel exhorted the audience to offer constant thanksgiving to God, because „we permanently live with His help and mercy and we feel His blessing”. The Patriarch stated that during his tenure he had always been aware of „God’s blessing”, especially in conducting work in communion „which I achieved together with the members of the Holy Synod, with the support of the clergy and the faithful, as well as the central and local state authorities, for the benefit of the Romanian people”. The Patriarch also mentioned the health crisis caused by the new coronavirus and spoke about the lessons taught by this experience. „This experiences teaches us that often, bearing across entails joy. Having passed through suffering and shown faithfulness to Christ and His Church, we then know the joy of meeting again, of deeper cooperation”, stated the Patriarch of Romania. In „Europa Christiana” Hall of the Patriarchal Palace, the members of the Holy Synod, of the members of the Standing National Council and the Standing Eparchial Council of Bucharest Archdiocese, professors of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology in Bucharest as well as other guests followed the congratulatory messages addressed to His Beatitude for the 13th anniversary of his enthronement, delivered on behalf of the state institutions.
