Summary/Abstract: The development of civil procedure rules in recent years has required that an analysis be made of the possibility of introduction of mandatory protection by an attorney-at-law in civil cases. The objective of such an idea is to achieve the proper degree of guarantee for both the interests of the parties and the interests of justice. At the same time, the matter of who implements the procedural representation on behalf of and at the expense of a party is not irrelevant. The said representation must fulfil a number of requirements so that the protection can be effective and professionally conducted. For this reason, it is necessary to compare the different figures of procedural representation in order to give an answer to the question of who should perform the protection in civil cases.
