Summary/Abstract: This article intends to present the history of the Department of Romanian Studies in Poznań, Poland, and the present structure of the studies. The article starts from an idea explored in the lecture of Horia-Roman Patapievici published in his book Discernământul modernizării (Humanitas, 2005) about how micro-history can influence macro-history. In the case of the establishment of the Department of Romanian Studies in Poznan, it was micro history, i.e. the personal life history of Henryk Misterski which led, under the course of history, more exactly World War 2, to the birth of a small Romania under the commandment of Henryk Misterski Jr., the future Head of Department of Romanian Studies. At the same time, the present article presents the structure of the Romanian studies in the Polish city, as well as the activity of the Department and students who study Romanian.
