Summary/Abstract: The text explores the relationship between the story and the message in the allegorical structure of the fable, which is a variant of the relationship between literature and philosophy. La Fontaine's fables are taken as an example. In them, the balance between the presented story and its meaning is disturbed. The two plans drift apart. Yet, they need each other. This also is typical of the relationship between literature and philosophy.
