Summary/Abstract: Ilire Zajmi’s poetry is rooted in the circumstances of the life of the Albanian woman and sometimes emerges as pain, sometimes as protest, sometimes as suffering, and sometimes as pride. Through her poetic verse, Ilirja becomes the woman’s voice in her four main stages: as a girl, as a teenager, as a bride, and as a woman. And she strongly protests against tradition that oppresses women’s freedom, which in many verses appears to us as a victim of national, religious, and modern obscure.
