Summary/Abstract: Introduction of the euro currency on the 1st January 2009 meant one of the most important step into the Slovakia´s attempts to participate on the economic integration in the European territory. Even the process of euro adoption was properly planed and organised, there were some particular problems connected with the whole process. Mostly preparedness of the business sector and its impossibility to influence final term, character and method of the euro adoption were not fully taken into the account in Slovakia. That is why mostly this group of economic agents had to face the biggest short-run costs and particularities of euro adoption. This article focuses on one particular part of the euro adoption process – dual circulation of the Slovak crowns and euro cash within the 16 days after introducing euro in Slovakia.
