Summary/Abstract: This study is focused on exploring the character of the great Macedonian ideologue and revolutionary Goce Delcev as a dramatic character in Macedonian dramaturgy. Five plays by Macedonian playwrights are analysed to define the character of Goce Delcev and his transformation from historical, through legendary into mythical character, so that the same can later be used as dramatic. His frequent use in Macedonian culture serves as a parallel to the use of Che Guevara’s character in the world culture. Establishing of Goce Delcev’s character as a symbol also signifies his transformation into an artistic protagonist. This comparative study is made according to a contemporary scientific apparatus of the current theatre study and dramaturgy.
