Summary/Abstract: Harmonizing financial activities at international, and in particular at European level, supposes amongst other, the use of specific methods for assessing systemic risks in order to guarantee financial stability. A common method to measure the financial stability covers the early warning systems, built as a consequence of the financial crises occurred in the last decade, crises which showed how unfavourable the destabilization of the financial system is for the economic performances. In this paper we realise a large description of this technique, underlying in the same time the mains advantages and limits of their use.
