Summary/Abstract: This article presents some fundamental issues related to the use of the sea coast: its status from the legal and material point of view, the possibilities for its private or public use, the possibilities de construction on the coast and the beach as well as in the seabed, protection of the environment and the natural resources of the sea and the coasts. In the two parts of the article are presented the concepts of Roman jurisprudence and the modern Bulgarian legislation as well as some current problems for the Black Sea coast.
