Summary/Abstract: This text looks at memory narratives about heroes shaped in Poland through official channels and presented by the authorities after 1989. Analysis of who and how they appeared within heroic memory narratives confirms whether affirmative memory narratives prevailed within the Polish post-transitional politics of memory. It also considers the functionality of hero narratives in Poland's public space, reflecting on their causes and consequences.
