Summary/Abstract: Following the fresh attempts to delimit the meaning of the words \krst\ and \krštenje\ the author considers the meaning of those words and some others close to them from the oldest Slavonic texts to the present day. He pays special attention to the way the word \krst\ was entering the Croatian usage and concludes that that word is not necessary in the Croatian literary language.
