Summary/Abstract: The current global context caused by the Covid-19 pandemic has prompted the most important European institutions to re-examine and reform certain Community acts, bringing them into line with current social reality. This approach can also be identified in the procedures for the service of judicial and extrajudicial documents in civil or commercial matters within the EU. In these circumstances, this study aims to highlight the most important aspects of Regulation (EU) 1784/2020, which will gradually repeal the provisions of Regulation (EU) 1393/2007 on the service in the Member States of judicial and extrajudicial documents in civil or commercial matters. As we shall note, the new vision of the European institutions on the communication and notification of judicial and extra-judicial acts offers better legal protection to all participants in these activities, but at the same time also effective speed of the activities involved in the proceedings themselves.
