Urban Space and Mental Maps – Two Parks in the towns of Rousse and Plovdiv

Summary/Abstract: Researching urban space it is necessary to identify and analyze the important for local community places and paths using the method of mental maps. Even not so new for psychology, the method „mental maps” is taking place in other human and social sciences, especially in the Bulgarian field, tending to become interdisciplinary. To review this method in this text we suggest two comparable cases of socialized urban nature – two central parks in Plovdiv and Rousse – Tsar Simeon garden and Mladezhki Park.
