Summary/Abstract: The sector of social economy grew and gained its own place in the actual social and economic activity at local, regional and national level in Romania. Even though until 2015 there was no clear legislative regulation social economy entities were created and contributed to the community development and job offers for vulnerable persons. This paper is focusing on a case study of best practices in social economy of entities from Romania. The main goal was to present the financial opportunities existing after we became a member of the European Union, social indicators targeted and achieved by these projects. Finally, to present two best practices of social economy entities created and acting in Romania. We will also focus on its collaborative economy for developing the social and economic communities where they were acting. Namely, Non-Governmental Professional Association of Social Work (ASSOC) from Baia Mare, Maramures and Alături de Voi Romania (ADV Romania) from Iasi.
