Summary/Abstract: The article thoroughly exemplifies 76 headwords ending in -ičar in so called ‘Makedonski jazik’ (i.e. the official language standard of the Republic of North Macedonia), all-Bulgarian lexis, regionalisms, dialectisms, neologisms and domestic Serbianisms in comparison with Standard Bulgarian and its dialects as well as with Serbian branch of former Serbo-Croatian. It was proposed hereby a more appropriate glottonym for that geolect as “Yugo-Macedonian” in view of the genesis and developmental processes of that 1945-codified linguistic norm as a particular manifestation of the political-cultural Yugoslavism, launched in Tito’s Yugoslavia. The primary conclusion was that domestic Serbianisms have paved the way for adoption of more Serbianisms of Western European origin (Occidentalisms), which will be discussed in a subsequent publication.
