Summary/Abstract: Popular music is an extraordinary meeting place for individual and social areas. It provides the basis for selfidentity as well as collective identity at the same time. In that sense, this paper aims to reexamine how the narratives of popular musical heritage and culture of memory influence the formation of personal and collective identity observed on the example of the Croatian drama-humor TV series Black and White World. The paper will first differentiate between the terms memory and remembrance and point out the importance of transcurtural turn, then the analysis of applied music in the mentioned series will establish the way in which popular musical heritage influences the formation of transcultural memory and identity.
