MODERN DANCE AS A SYNTHESIS OF MEANS OF ARTISTIC EXPRESSION

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to analyze the main properties of modern dance as a special synthesis of means of artistic expression. Research methodology. Interdisciplinary methodology is based on the inclusion of art history and culturological approaches. General scientific methods such as problem statement and solution, analysis, synthesis, deduction, induction, method of connection of abstract and concrete are also used. Scientific novelty lies in outlining the prospects of research in modern dance as a synthesis of means, forms and so on. choreographic, ideological and artistic expression. Conclusions. One of the most important determinants of the features of modern dance, as a means of constituting the aesthetic and sensory dimensions of space and the expression of the performer's identity, is its syncretic nature. It is based on an organic synthesis of different dance styles, and thus – the ultimate ability to produce innovative content, as well as openness to interaction with other arts, sports, as well as with classical, historical, folk and national elements of other dance styles and cultures. Such an unusual synthesis turns modern dance into one of the most effective means of artistic expression.
