Summary/Abstract: The article presents a study on how preventing undeclared work can contribute to higher stability of the firm’s finance, on the basis of devoted research of undeclared work in Bulgaria. The national representative study was conducted amongst 630 companies and 1311 employees, and the data obtained were further verified in 6 focus group discussions. Further layers of depth were added by a desk research aiming at identifying measures to combat and prevent the undeclared work. On the basis of all studies, normative and administrative measures were drawn, in order to regulate the most widely spread grey practices – those on the labour market – in relation to engaging in different forms of employment. The ultimate goal is to prevent situations were accurate firms will be forced to raise their labour costs, in order to benchmark the additional cash payment without or above the labour contracts, done by fraudulent rivals, which will destabilize their financial situation.
