Summary/Abstract: Implementation of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 – General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) – establishes new obligations for medical service providers in relation to individuals, patients, employees, etc. The protection of personal data is subsumed by the protection of privacy provided by Article 8 al of the European Convention on Human Rights. For this reason, the jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights, analyzed in this article, represents a landmark for ensuring the protection of personal data in the field of health.
