Summary/Abstract: The paper analyzes the traces of Roman temples in the area of today’s Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the general, introductory part, the notion of the temple in the Roman world is dealt with. The sacred places of the native population, which were mostly under the open sky, were analyzed. According to the findings found so far, most of the Roman sanctuaries are dedicated to Jupiter and Liber. A number of sites were also recorded, which were probably temples, and for which it is not possible to determine to which deity they were dedicated. The remains of the temples have not been preserved, except for a few substructures, so the analysis was done on the basis of epigraphic material and context.
