Summary/Abstract: In his philosophical and, at the same time, poetic essay, the author describes the crisis of contemporary culture and reflects on its causes, while looking for the sources of hope for the future and indicating possible paths leading to a renaissance. The main inspiration for the considerations presented in the essay is the output of Karol Wojtyła—John Paul II, but the author draws also on works by such thinkers and poets as Plato, Dante Alighieri, Johann Wolfgang Goethe, and Thomas Stearns Eliot.
