Summary/Abstract: The article presents the general concept of a business model and business model of a banking enterprise. The study indicates the basic elements that characterize them and introduces classic business models of European banks. The aim of the article is to present these models and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the operations of banks, as well as further development directions and possible scenarios of changes in banking business models. It has been hypothesized that the COVID-19 pandemic will have a significant impact on shaping the future business models of banks, especially in the area of customer cooperation. An attempt to confirm the hypothesis is to present the changes taking place in the banking sector and the currently identifiable effects of the pandemic. The article has a review character and is based on domestic and foreign literature on the subject.
