Summary/Abstract: Investing excess cash is a problem for many people. What to invest in to get the maximum return with the minimum risk is the basic question. This also raises the question of whether gold is such an investment. This article is an analysis of the volatility of gold prices over the last 40 years and the impact of important economic events on them.
