Summary/Abstract: Abstract: The article offers a comparative analysis of the philosophical and artistic concept of music and musical talent in short stories by three Russian writers of the 19th and 20th centuries: Leo Tolstoy, Anton Chekhov and Yuri Kazakov. Through their attitude to music and musicians, the authors reveal their respective worldviews, their attitudes towards people as creative subjects, and their views of the profane and sacred.
