Summary/Abstract: This paper clarifies the understanding of the contagion phenomenon. The increasing use of the contagion term comes from the raising complexity of social systems. Within the theoretical analysis, the author worked out the characteristics of contagion, definitions of contagion and contagion effect as well as typology of contagion. Trust, fundamentals and emotions play the crucial role within two theoretical models of contagion propagation. Inertia and flexibility, as well as oversensitivity are the most important factors behind the company’s response towards contagion.
