Summary/Abstract: China overtook the US as the EU’s largest trading partner in 2020. The growing power of China, accordingly, claims a greater right within the international system. The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), the largest infrastructure project in history, is being promoted to increase China’s efficiency in the countries of the Eurasian region. This article examines China’s transport policy in the Eurasian region within the framework of the BRI, the importance of the Zangezur Corridor on the Central Asia-South Caucasus-Turkey line that is also called the “Middle Corridor”, and the attitudes of the regional countries and superpowers.
