Summary/Abstract: As a concept created by modernity, conditions in urban areas largely dictate an individual’s quality of life and social actions. Modern man is aware that local and central governments are responsible for improving that. The notion that the gross national product per capita (as a stand-alone economic indicator) can determine the general welfare level and standard of living of a given nation has now been abandoned. Beyond economic indicators, there are also new criteria on the agenda because are social beings. Therefore, researchers are developing different scientific approaches to study the needs of local and national populations using different scales. Applying a certain scale that one can apply for any city around the world – and then claim that it will reveal the real problems of the city, taking into account the interaction of human and nature – is extremely problematic. This leads [us] to the need to develop scale or research tools that are settlement-specific. For example, in residential area may be in desperate need of trees for people to sit under on hot summer days. Elsewhere, more sunlight (period) is necessary. From this point of view, there are needs that can be objectively constructed for each city, and features that can be subjectively assessed that will affect individual perceptions. This study aims to investigate the satisfaction level of people living Bartın-Turkey. Individuals of different ages, gender, income, and education levels were examined. The findings reveal that there were inconsistent results in the evaluation of objective and subjective variables about Bartın.
