Summary/Abstract: The paper attempts to describe the semantic relations which joined together a translation equivalents taken from the bitext corpus for a bilingual dictionary. The description is based on the component model of significance referring to the set theory. Despite the difficulties of the separating the content plan of the message form its expression plan—in author’s opinion—the used model is suitable for a comprehensive description of bilingual lexical data, as it is evidenced by the examples discussed. The article contains the information about the frequency distributions of the discussed semantic relations in the corpus including 20081 units
