Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study was to adapt the Emotional Processing Scale (EPS) to Turkish and find out the psychometric properties of the adapted scale in a sampling composed of university students. The EPS was administered to 484 university students whose ages were between 18 and 33. Cronbach’s alpha and test-retest reliability coefficients were calculated. Confirmatory factor analysis was used to determine the factors. To assess and evaluate the validity of the adapted scale, Courtauld Emotional Control Scale, Toronto Alexithymia Scale and Brief Symptom Inventory were used. According to confirmatory factor analysis, the 25-item version of the scale has an acceptable validity and it was determined through additional model tests that both the scores of five sub-dimensions of the scale in line with the original scale and the total score can be used. The reliability analyses indicated that the total score and sub-dimensions of the scale have acceptable internal consistency coefficients. Besides, in terms of validity, positive high correlations were found out between alexithymia, emotional control and psychological symptoms and the EPS as expected. We can conclude that the Turkish version of the EPS is a reliable and valid scale to measure emotional processing in university students.
