Summary/Abstract: Marian Sadowski “Dan” - “Dzida” / “Lot” was a complex character. The biography of the conspiratorial activity of the Radom partisan starts with his service in the National Military Organisation and then in the ranks of the Home Army, where he completed the cadet course. In the ranks of the Home Army, he crossed the combat route of the 72nd Infantry Regiment. After the Red Army entered the Radom Land, at the request of his superiors, he joined the Railway Protection Service and then joined the assault company of the Civic Militia. However, due to the growing terror of the communist authorities, after a few months he deserted from the above mentioned assault squad and joined Lieutenant “Ostrolota” branch of the Armed Forces Delegation, which was being formed near Szydłowiec. After the dissolution of this unit from the soldiers remaining in the underground, he organized his own patrol. His organizational talent was noticed by Lieutenant “Zagończyk”, who ordered him to expand the unit and handed over the command over the Radom region. In 1946 Marian Sadowski was the commander of one of the largest partisan units of the Inspectorate of the Armed Conspiracy Union, which was a part of the Freedom and Independence organization, operating in the Kielce Province. When the units of ZZK (Armed Conspiracy Unit) appeared, Lieutenant Colonel “Dzida” was against it and agreed to the disclosure of his unit under the influence of some of his subordinates who were reluctant to continue in the conspiracy. A few months after revealing himself, Marian Sadowski was arrested and then recruited on the basis of “compromising materials” to cooperate with the Security Office. At that time he became one of the most effective agents of the Security Office, fighting the armed underground in the region of Radom and Szydłowiec.
