Summary/Abstract: The ecological crisis is treated as one of the challenges of the 21st century. The aim of the article is to prove that it is advisable to raise the issues of climate change during Polish language lessons in primary schools. This should happen thanks to the analysis and interpretation of literary texts in the spirit of ecological and committed humanities. Examples of readings and specific solutions that can be used during their development are given. Non-fiction literaturę plays a special role in the proposed concept of environmental education in Polish. Based on contemporary reportages, the attitudes of the “humanist signaller” and “ecological disobedience” are discussed. Work on these texts is placed in a broader context — social, political, moral. Finally, attention is drawn to the idea of returning to nature and the need to pay attention to the role of nature in upbringing and education.
