Summary/Abstract: The aim of our research was to analyze two translations of Charles Baudelaire’s sonnets “Correspondances” into Serbian produced by Ivan V. Lalić and Borislav Radović to show what poetic and linguistic means the translators used to transfer the elements from the original text to the target text, especially with regard to form and meaning. We also discuss literal translations and rhythmic translation, which represents a translation-recreation in a new language (according to Etkind’s typology). The analysis was conducted within the framework of Even-Zohar’s theory of polysystems and Etkind’s poetic approach. The poem analyzed is part of the collection of poems Flowers of Evil (Fleurs du mal) published in 1857.
