Summary/Abstract: The most known and short definition of creativity is “generating new and useful ideas”. The concept of talent refers to special abilities in academic or artistic fields. Creativity has been recognized as a characteristic of people who has been dedicated to have supernatural abilities for centuries. Today, however producing art is considered primarily about talent and then definitely about education. From this point of view, the relationship between the concept of creativity and artistic talent is very clear. It can be said that many internal and external factors affect creativity. However, looking at the studies conducted, it is seen that the effect of cognitive ability on artistic creativity has not been investigated. Therefore, in this study, which is expected to fill this gap in the literature, the relationship between cognitive ability and artistic creativity has been examined. The experimental design was prepared to determine both abilities and general creativity levels. Looking at the results, the negative correlation between cognitive and artistic ability was the most striking result. According to this result, it can be said that cognitive skills are relatively weak in people with high artistic ability, and cognitive ability is higher in people with low artistic ability.
