Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to present the scientific output of Janusz Wojciech Libicki, an economist, Polish Army officer, and Katyń victim. As an advocate of the neoclassical school and of the application of the mathematical method, he dealt with the manipulation of money by the central bank, agrarian crises, modern production cost theory, company balance and producer’s rent, taxation and public expenditure theory. In the interwar period, he was considered to be the hope of Polish economics. Tragically, he was murdered near Katyń and quickly forgotten by Polish economists.
