Summary/Abstract: The paper analyses two primary sources relating to the Greens’ Movement and the Christmas Rebellion. The origin of sources is different. The first source, dated 1920, examines the role of Italy in the instigation of the Rebellion in January 1919 and deals with the murder of priest Obren Radunović by the Greens, before the Great Assembly of the Serbian People was held in Podgorica. The second source, dated 1929, is particularly important as it represents the amnesty request of the key actor of the Christmas Rebellion – Krsto Zrnov Popović, given his participation in the events of January 1919. Popović, as the leader of the armed insurrection, requested amnesty from King Aleksandar I Karađorđević. In addition to the analysis of the two sources, the paper contains the most recent results of historiography that contribute to a more thorough examination of the unification of Serbia and Montenegro and creation of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes.
