PREPREKE RAZVOJU KULTURNOG TURIZMA ZENIČKO-DOBOJSKOG KANTONA
OBSTACLES TO DEVELOPMENT OF CULTURAL TOURISM IN THE ZENICA-DOBOJ CANTON

Summary/Abstract: Zenica-Doboj Canton has a significant cultural tourism potential which is a resource basis for the development of cultural tourism and a possible future alternative to the still dominant industrial production. The aim of this paper is to determine the state of cultural tourism in the Canton and obstacles to its development. The research was conducted using the method of semi-structured interviews, which included 36 respondents from three target groups (representatives of cultural institutions, representatives of tourist agencies, and representatives of Ministries, municipal and city services responsible for the sectors of culture and tourism). In addition to the data collected by the aforementioned method, analysis of strategic development documents in the area of Zenica-Doboj Canton was performed, which sought to determine the presence and treatment manner of cultural tourism as a factor of the future Canton development. The results of the research will be partially presented in the strategic document for the development of cultural policy in ZDC.
