Summary/Abstract: This publication highlights the importance and major gaps of the principles of private law. The relevance of the issue is unambiguous because Ukrainian legislation really needs to be improved. On the way to improving legislation it is important preserve the essence of legal doctrine. Bringing legislation closer to EU law is a complex task that requires careful planning, resources, careful development of draft regulations, coordination of relevant activities, and monitoring of compliance with obligations. In my opinion, comparison is the best method for improving and expanding legislation in the field of private law.
